Emerald Peak is an 8,422-foot summit in Washington’s Chelan Mountains, within the Glacier Peak Wilderness of the North Cascades. Managed as part of Wenatchee National Forest, it is the second-highest point in the Chelan Mountains and one of three prominent summits enclosing the head of the North Fork Entiat River valley. Its runoff reaches both the Chelan and Entiat River basins, and Bearcat Ridge extends from it to the northeast. First recorded ascended in 1937 by William A. Long, the mountain rises in a landscape shaped by uplift, faulting, and repeated glaciation, and is composed chiefly of granodiorite and hornblende quartz diorite.
