Schoolroom Glacier
Nature
Schoolroom Glacier is a small glacier in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park, in the Teton Range beside the south Cascade Canyon trail about 10,400 feet above sea level and roughly 12 miles from Jenny Lake. It is especially significant because it clearly shows classic glacial features in one compact setting, including terminal and lateral moraines, crevasses, and a proglacial lake or tarn, making it an accessible example of how glaciers shape the land. Like most glaciers worldwide, it has been retreating for many decades and is expected to disappear by 2030 if current climatic conditions continue.
