Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family Conservation Area is a 429-acre protected area in northwestern Jefferson County, Missouri, within the Meramec River watershed and largely in the LaBarque Creek watershed. Acquired with support from the Glassberg family and the U.S. Forest Service’s Forest Legacy Program, it opened to the public in December 2012. Its chief purpose is to help protect the water quality of LaBarque Creek, one of the St. Louis area’s highest-quality streams and home to at least 42 fish species. The area supports quiet recreation with a 3-mile loop trail, a shorter path around Buder Lake, additional fishless ponds, and a scenic overlook above the Meramec River.
