Conness Glacier
Nature
Conness Glacier sits in the steep northeast cirque of Mount Conness in California, east of the Sierra Nevada crest, at about 11,548 feet. Visible from Saddlebag Lake to the east, it stands out in a remote high alpine landscape as the largest glacier in the Sierra Nevada north of Tioga Pass, or Highway 120. Its size gives it unusual prominence in this part of the range and makes it a notable feature of the northern Sierra Nevada.
