George Rosenkrans, a noted band composer who lived from 1881 to 1955, spent most of his life in Penfield and served here as a church organist. He wrote piano and organ music and hymns, as well as over 200 band numbers. His marches included "Triumphant Battalions" and "Our Glorious Flag."
