Teton Wilderness is a remote federal wilderness in northwestern Wyoming within Bridger-Teton National Forest, established in 1964 and spanning 585,238 acres within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Lying between Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and the Washakie Wilderness, it includes the Continental Divide, Younts Peak, and the Yellowstone River’s headwaters. Its best-known natural curiosity is Two Ocean Pass, where water at Parting of the Waters splits and ultimately reaches both the Pacific and Atlantic. With about 450 miles of trails, the area supports abundant wildlife and is managed under the Wilderness Act, which prohibits roads, motorized use, logging, and mining while allowing limited recreation and hunting.
