Martin Peak is an 8,377-foot summit in Washington’s Methow Mountains on Sawtooth Ridge, at the head of Martin Creek within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. It is the seventh-highest peak in the Methow Mountains and the 80th-highest summit in the state. The mountain stands between drainage systems leading west toward Lake Chelan and east into the Methow River system. Its climate reflects the drier eastern North Cascades, though winter storms still bring heavy snowfall and the summit can keep snow into late spring. Martin Peak also embodies the North Cascades’ geologic past, shaped by tectonic activity, terrane assembly about 50 million years ago, uplift, faulting, and repeated Pleistocene glaciation.
