Wickford Harbor Light stands at the entrance to Wickford Harbor on the west side of Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island, marking the approach to the small harbor from Old Gay Rock on the south side of the entrance. The original light station, built in 1882, consisted of a square wooden tower attached to a one-and-a-half-story keeper’s dwelling. It served until 1930, when it was deactivated and the earlier structure was torn down. The site was then equipped with the present black steel skeleton tower, officially known as Wickford Harbor Light 1.
