The Roseville-Coxville Covered Bridge, southeast of Mecca, Indiana, is a double-span Burr Arch road bridge built in 1910 as the third structure at this crossing after the 1865 bridge burned. Parke County chose another covered bridge rather than a concrete replacement, a decision that later seemed wise when the nearby concrete Armiesburg bridge collapsed while Roseville-Coxville endured. Its construction history is unusually uncertain: Jefferson P. Van Fossen held the contract, a period photograph credited J. P. Van Fossen and J. Brooks, later witnesses named foreman Joseph J. Daniels, and design features suggest competing influences. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, it reflects Parke County’s covered bridge tradition.
