C.S. Stewart’s 2nd Brigade of Clark’s 1st Division, Polk’s Corps, Army of the Mississippi, consisting of the 5th Tennessee, 33rd Tennessee, 13th Arkansas, 4th Tennessee, and Stanford’s Mississippi Battery, with its regiments arranged from left to right in that order and the battery in the rear, bivouacked here on Saturday night, April 5, 1862. On Sunday morning it advanced along Pittsburg Road to _______ field, then turned to the right and was first engaged at the camp of the 4th Illinois Cavalry.
