C.S. Russell's 1st Brigade, consisting of the 11th Louisiana, 22d Tennessee, 13th Tennessee, and 12th Tennessee, with Bankhead's Tennessee Battery, belonged to Clark's 1st Division, Polk's Corps, Army of the Mississippi. With its regiments arranged from left to right in that order and the battery in the rear, the brigade bivouacked at this place on Saturday night, April 5, 1862. It advanced on Sunday morning, April 6, 1862, along the Pittsburg Road and went into action at Rhea house.
