Burrington Covered Bridge is a nineteenth-century covered road bridge in Lyndon, Vermont, beside the Passumpsic River near Vermont Route 114. A single-span queenpost truss, it is sixty-eight feet long and fifteen feet wide, with a roadway twelve and a half feet wide, concrete-faced or rebuilt abutments, a gabled roof with wide eaves, shortened vertical siding, projecting portals, iron rod bracing, and a wooden plank deck. It is one of five surviving nineteenth-century covered bridges in Lyndon that share these distinctive features. Used until 1965, it remains significant for its role in Lyndon’s road system and Vermont’s covered bridge tradition.
