Burke Mountain Ski Area is a mid-size resort in East Burke, Vermont, on Burke Mountain in the Northeast Kingdom, serving skiers and snowboarders and housing Burke Mountain Academy. Its lower and upper terrain are served by two high-speed quad chairlifts and three surface lifts, giving it the profile of a regional mountain with both learning areas and broader uphill access. In 2012 it was acquired in an expansion tied to the federal EB-5 visa investment program, but that venture collapsed into fraud. U.S. officials seized Burke Mountain in 2016 and placed it in receivership, though it kept operating. In April 2025, Bear Den Partners bought it and announced plans for major reinvestment.
