The Grand Wash Cliffs form a long escarpment in northwestern Arizona, extending south-southeast from the Grand Canyon–Parashant National Monument through the Grand Wash Cliffs Wilderness into the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. West of the Shivwits Plateau, they continue across the Grand Canyon where the Colorado River enters Lake Mead, then run past Grapevine Mesa and along the Hualapai Valley to the Music Mountains. Features along the cliffs include Squaw Canyon, Pearce Canyon, Pearce Ferry, Meadview, Crozier, and Valentine. As one of the region’s defining landforms, the cliffs create a striking boundary between plateaus, valleys, and mountain country.
