Crystal Peak is a 6,595-foot mountain in the eastern part of Mount Rainier National Park near the crest of the Cascade Range in Pierce County, Washington. Surrounded by nearby summits and lakes, it was once the site of a fire lookout and remains accessible by trail from Highway 410 via the Crystal Lakes Trail. Its climate reflects the marine west coast conditions common on the Cascades’ western side, with Pacific moisture bringing heavy rain and snowfall. Winter snow is often wet and heavy, increasing avalanche danger, while runoff from the mountain feeds tributaries of the White River and the clearest weather usually comes in summer.
