Cogswell Dam, completed in 1934 by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, is a rockfill dam built for flood control and water conservation. It serves a drainage area of 39.2 square miles, has a storage capacity of 12,300 acre-feet, and a crest height of 265 feet.
