Hidden Valley was a small ski resort in Vernon Township, New Jersey, built by Jack and Peg Kurlander and opened in 1975. Near larger Mountain Creek, it offered 15 trails for all skill levels, a modest lift system, and a 620-foot vertical drop. Though conveniently located, it struggled to compete, went bankrupt in 2007, and after further setbacks, including a warm winter in 2011, closed after failing to reopen for the 2013–2014 season. The mountain was important in American ski development as a training ground for Olympic moguls champion Donna Weinbrecht and several elite racers. In 2014, the site began new use under the National Winter Activity Center.
