William Scott, remembered as the sleeping sentinel pardoned by Abraham Lincoln on Sept. 9th, 1861, was born on this farm on Apr. 9th, 1839, enlisted in Co. K, 3rd Vt. Vol. on July 10th, 1861, and died of wounds at Lees Mills on Apr. 16th, 1862.
