Bryn Mawr Campus Arboretum is a 135-acre arboretum on the grounds of Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, open daily without charge and serving as both a botanical landscape and the setting for the campus. Its design history began with plans by Calvert Vaux and a final scheme drawn in 1884, though little of that vision was carried out. In 1895 Frederick Law Olmsted visited the college, and in 1897 he and his nephew and partner, John C. Olmsted, produced a broader plan that incorporated Vaux’s earlier work. That plan largely shaped the grounds for decades before later planning approaches altered the campus.
