Attlebury School House
Education
The one-room schoolhouse on this site dates from the early 1800's. The present structure was built upon the foundation of the original schoolhouse, which burned in 1909. It was used through 1947 for the primary education of children from nearby homes and was one of several schoolhouses in the Town of Stanford. In recognition of the American Revolution Bicentennial, it was restored in 1975-1976 by the Attlebury School Restoration Committee and citizens of the communities of the Pine Plains Central School District, and it was dedicated on July 4, 1976.
