Little Monadnock Mountain, a 1,900-foot peak in Fitzwilliam and Troy, New Hampshire, is both a hiking destination and a protected landscape. Much of the mountain lies within Rhododendron State Park, where summit ledges offer broad views and trails connect to the 110-mile Metacomet-Monadnock Trail and a shorter loop from park headquarters. Its slopes drain into two river systems that both eventually reach the Connecticut River. The park is especially notable for its large natural grove of native rhododendron, recognized as a National Natural Landmark. Together, the mountain’s ledges, trail network, and unusual plant community give it importance beyond its modest height.
