Carleton Bridge, also known as Carlton Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge in East Swanzey, New Hampshire, carrying Carlton Road over the South Branch Ashuelot River on an important local route. Built in 1869 at a crossing thought to date back to 1789, it is the region’s only surviving 19th-century Queenspost truss bridge and likely the only one of its type in southern New Hampshire. Its enclosed timber structure, granite abutments, and later metal reinforcements show both traditional construction and adaptation over time. Major repairs in 1997 restored deteriorated wood, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
