Irving Peak is a 13,216-foot summit in southwestern Colorado's Needle Mountains of the San Juan range, within the Weminuche Wilderness on San Juan National Forest land northeast of Durango. Rising sharply above Vallecito Creek, it gains about 4,100 feet in just 1.25 miles, creating a notably steep profile. Its slopes drain into Vallecito Creek, a tributary of the Los Pinos River. The mountain lies in an alpine subarctic climate marked by snowy winters, cool to warm summers, year-round precipitation, and summer thunderstorms. Officially recognized by the United States Board on Geographic Names, Irving Peak appears in published records by at least 1906 and remains one of Colorado's rugged thirteeners.
