Icy Peak is a 7,073-foot mountain in Washington’s North Cascades National Park, rising from the rugged terrain at the head of Nooksack Cirque near Seahpo Peak and Mount Shuksan. Its heavily glaciated setting includes an icefall in the northeast cirque and small glaciers on every side of the summit. The peak drains into both the Nooksack and Baker river systems, linking two important west-side watersheds. It is also a remnant of the extinct Hannegan Caldera, within a landscape shaped over millions of years by tectonic forces, uplift, faulting, and Pleistocene glaciation. Its marine west coast climate brings heavy winter snow and clearer summers.
