Gifford Covered Bridge, also known as the C.K. Smith Covered Bridge, is a wooden single-lane road bridge on Hyde Road in Randolph, Vermont, crossing the Second Branch of the White River. Its single-span king post truss is notable because the truss rises only halfway up the bridge, a rare arrangement in Vermont that suggests it was first built uncovered and later enclosed around 1904. The bridge was further altered around 1955 with steel I-beam reinforcement, an uncommon method for covered bridges, and in 2001 it was raised to reduce flood risk. It remains limited to 3 tons and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
