Snowy Top, or Snowy Top Mountain, is a 7,572-foot summit in the Selkirk Mountains of northern Idaho, in Boundary County near the Canada–United States border and within the Snowy Top Research Natural Area. Managed as part of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, it is the county’s sixth-highest peak. Its terrain is especially steep, rising sharply above Nun Creek and the Upper Priest River over short distances. Water from its western slope flows to the South Salmo River, while its other slopes drain toward the Upper Priest River, both within the Columbia River basin. Snowy Top has a harsh alpine subarctic climate, and its name was officially adopted in 1970.
