Never Laughs Mountain
Nature
Never Laughs Mountain is a 7,641-foot peak in the Lewis Range of Glacier National Park in Montana, standing south of Two Medicine Lake and northwest of Mount Ellsworth. Its name likely comes from the Blackfeet term Kat-aiyimi, meaning “never laughs,” and is also associated with a band of the Piegan Blackfeet. The mountain’s significance lies not only in its prominent place in the Two Medicine landscape but also in how its name reflects the Indigenous history of the area.
