Westport-Union Landing State Beach
Nature
Westport-Union Landing State Beach occupies a protected stretch of Mendocino County’s North Coast about 19 miles north of Fort Bragg along Highway 1. Extending more than 3 miles, it is known for rugged, exposed shoreline, broad coastal views, and the mountainous backdrop of Northern California. The beach includes a campground with 46 ocean-view campsites and is a popular place for fishing, camping, and shoreline recreation. Its name preserves two early coastal communities: Westport, which began as a sawmill town and still survives, and Union Landing, which has mostly vanished except for a few remaining buildings.
