Combahee Bank Light stood in St. Helena Sound on the line between Beaufort and Colleton counties, South Carolina. Built in 1868, it was a cottage-style screwpile lighthouse meant to warn mariners away from dangerous shoals. Its active service was brief, ending around 1876. In 1902, a daymark was placed on the old structure, but settling soon made that use impractical. A lighted buoy replaced it in 1913, and most of the remaining structure was removed in 1925 by a buoy tender's derrick. An automated light on a dolphin now marks the site near the original location.
