Michael Young anchored the Rangers' infield at four different positions over an illustrious 12-year career. He is the all-time Washington/Texas franchise leader with 1823 games, 7399 at bats, 1085 runs, 2230 hits, 415 doubles, 55 triples, 3286 total bases, and 651 multi-hit games, and ranks third with 984 RBI and 647 extra base hits. He hit .301 overall with Texas while batting .300 or better a club-record seven times, including an AL-best .331 in 2005. He is one of 16 players in Major League history with at least six seasons of 200 hits, including a streak of five consecutive years from 2003 to 2007. He captured five Rangers Player of the Year awards, matching the most ever, was a seven-time All-Star, earned MVP honors in the 2006 All-Star Game at San Diego, and is the only player in All-Star Game history with two game-winning hits in his team's final at bat. He played his first three major league seasons at second base, moved to shortstop in 2004 and won a Gold Glove there in 2008, switched to third base in 2009, and spent much of his final two Texas seasons at first base. He is the only player in Major League history to start at least 130 games in a season at second base, shortstop, and third base. He also excelled in the community, winning two MLBPA Marvin Miller Man of the Year awards. He split his final season in 2013 with the Phillies and Dodgers, finishing with a career .300 average, 185 homers, and 1030 RBI in 1970 games, and was inducted on July 30, 2016.
