Ferguson Jenkins was one of baseball's top pitchers in the 1960's and 1970's, and his 1974 performance was the best ever for a Rangers hurler. He tied for the Major League lead with 25 wins and completed an AL-high 29 games. He started 41 times, pitched 328 innings, and threw six shutouts, all club records that still stand. He was named the American League Comeback Player of the Year as Texas improved from 57 to 84 victories. He won his second Rangers Pitcher of the Year award in 1978 with 18 victories. He is the all-time team leader with 17 shutouts, ranks second with 90 complete games, and ranks fourth in wins and innings. Over a 19-year career with the Phillies, Cubs, Rangers, and Red Sox, he won 284 games and had seven 20-win seasons. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
