Tracy House in Normandy Park near Seattle was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1956 as one of his Usonian Automatic houses, a late-career take on compact, carefully planned family homes. Built for Bill and Elizabeth Tracy, it uses concrete blocks with glass and redwood plywood to lighten the wall mass. Though modest at 1,150 square feet, with three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a two-car garage, it sits on a much larger lot facing Puget Sound, a contrast central to its character. Elizabeth Tracy lived there until 2012, and the house is regarded as a notable Pacific Northwest example of Wright’s residential work.
