Nature
Mount Boardman is a summit in California’s Diablo Range near the junction of Santa Clara, Alameda, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin counties. It was named for W. F. Boardman, who served as Alameda County surveyor from 1865 to 1869. Just north of it stands a higher peak, unofficially called Boardman North, reaching 3,629 feet (1,106 m). Though unnamed on topographic maps, that northern summit sits on the Alameda–San Joaquin county line and is the highest point in San Joaquin County. Both peaks can receive some snow in winter.
