Day Pond State Park in Colchester, Connecticut, is a compact public recreation area centered on a seven-acre pond beside Salmon River State Forest. Once part of an early industrial landscape, it preserves foundation stones and the pond created by the Day family to power their sawmill. The land became a state park in 1949 and now supports hiking, swimming, shoreline fishing, picnicking, and mountain biking, with trails linking to about five miles of routes in the adjoining forest. The pond is managed for trout, and Day Pond Brook Falls, a multi-drop waterfall, became much easier to reach after a spur trail was added in 2010.
