Mattair Springs is a natural spring within a 1,188-acre preserve in northeastern Suwannee County, Florida, managed by the Suwannee River Water Management District. The preserve includes upland mixed forest, pine plantations, and sandhills, with restoration underway in part of the sandhill habitat. Nearby, the 200-acre Camp Branch tract adds slope forest, xeric hammock, bottom land forest, and more sandhill terrain. Together these habitats support wildlife including gopher tortoise, Suwannee cooter, deer, turkey, and squirrel, as well as plants such as hooded pitcher plants and cedar elm. The area also provides low-impact recreation through the Florida Trail, horse trails, hiking, bicycling, and wildlife viewing.
