Gifford Pinchot was a noted forester, conservationist, and Governor of Pennsylvania for two terms, from 1923-27 and 1931-35. He had his ancestral home at Gray Towers in Milford. Born in Connecticut in 1865, he came from a long line of pioneers of this region. He died Oct. 4, 1946.
