Grey Towers has been designated a Registered National Historical Landmark, a site of national significance in commemorating the history of the United States of America. In 1963, the site was administered by the Forest Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and by the National Historic Landmark Program administered by the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service of the United States Department of Interior.
