The Ruggles House was built for Thomas Ruggles, a prominent citizen of Columbia, and was designed and built by Aaron Simmons Sherman. Restored in 1950-1951 by the Ruggles House Society, it is a notable example of nineteenth century Adam style architecture and hand carving.
