Mount Bushnell State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area in Washington, Connecticut, south of Lake Waramaug. Covering 214 acres, it was established primarily for hiking and other low-impact outdoor use rather than built facilities. The park began when the state purchased 70 acres in 1916, and it has since grown into a larger preserve managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Its significance lies in its intentionally simple character, which protects a largely natural landscape while providing public access for quiet recreation.
