Stayton–Jordan Bridge in Pioneer Park, Stayton, Oregon, is a covered pedestrian bridge over the Salem Power Canal whose origins trace to the Jordan Bridge, a 1937 covered bridge near Lyons in Linn County. After Linn County chose to replace that earlier bridge in 1986, Stayton residents acquired and moved its dismantled structure, rebuilding it over the canal with help from volunteers and Marine Corps reservists. It opened to pedestrians in 1988, but a December 1994 fire caused by Christmas lights struck by children with a BB gun destroyed or fatally damaged it. Local residents then built the present bridge, modeled on the lost one, which opened in 1998 and also serves private events such as weddings.
