Pioneer Monument
History
Erected in 1954 by the Bottineau County Old Settler’s Association and friends, this memorial honors pioneer settlers who endured the toil, trials, hazards, and wants of life, broke the sod with oxen or horses, and built homes of sod or logs as a prelude to the fine homes, schools, churches, hospitals, and business establishments of the present day, envisioned through their industry and foresight as a blessing to present and future generations.
