Silver Peak is a prominent 5,609-foot summit on the crest of Washington’s Cascade Range, straddling King and Kittitas counties in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest near Snoqualmie Pass and Keechelus Lake. Closely associated with the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs along its east flank and offers the easiest access to the summit area, the mountain is both a notable landmark and a recreational destination. It also forms a local drainage divide, with water flowing east to Cold Creek and the Yakima River system and west by Humpback Creek to the South Fork Snoqualmie River. Its marine west coast climate brings heavy winter rain and snow and clearer late-summer conditions.
