Milwaukee Ski Bowl was a major alpine ski area at Hyak, Washington, on the east side of Snoqualmie Pass, created in 1937 by executives of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad near the Snoqualmie Tunnel. It opened as Snoqualmie Ski Bowl, closed at the start of World War II, and reopened in 1946 under its better-known name. With night skiing, multiple lifts, a large lodge, and a prominent ski jump that hosted national championship events and 1948 Olympic team tryouts, it became especially popular with young skiers from Seattle and Tacoma. After a 1949 lodge fire, it finished one last season before later reemerging under new ownership as Hyak, now Summit East.
