Grays Harbor Light, or Westport Light, stands on Point Chehalis at the south entrance to Grays Harbor in Westport, Washington. First lit in 1898 after construction began in 1897 to plans by Carl Leick, its 107-foot tower is the tallest lighthouse in Washington and the third tallest on the West Coast. Built on a massive sandstone foundation with thick brick walls, it long served as a major navigational aid. Shoreline accretion later moved the ocean much farther from the tower. Automated in the late 1960s, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and passed to the Westport-South Beach Historical Society in 2004.
