North Brother
Nature
North Brother is a mountain in Baxter State Park in Maine and one of the two peaks called The Brothers. It lies between Fort Mountain and South Brother, near Mount Katahdin in one of the state’s best-known mountain landscapes. Its significance is also geographic: its slopes send water in two directions. The south and east sides drain through the Klondike into Wassataquoik Stream and the East Branch of the Penobscot River toward Penobscot Bay, while the north and west sides drain by Little Nesowadnehunk Stream and Nesowadnehunk Stream into the West Branch of the Penobscot.
