Ortonville honors the memory of Pte. Frank R. Scott of Co. D, 44th BN., C. E. F., who died of wounds on Sept. 11, 1918; Pte. Roy L. Hartwig of Co. E, 125th Inf., U. S. A., who died of disease Jan. 26, 1918; and Corp. Benj. J. Richmond of Co. E, 125th Inf., U. S. A., who was killed in action Aug. 29, 1918, and gave their lives for democracy in the Great World War of 1914-1919.
