Milk House
Faith
Built in 1849, the Milk House was the center of the small-scale dairy business at the North Family of White Water Shaker Village. The Shakers separated cream from milk and made butter and cheese on the upper level. The cheese and its molds would have been stored there. Dairy items were stored in crockery jars in the stone and brick troughs in the cellar, where cold water flowing through the troughs preserved them.
