Irving J. Wasley Sr. gave this land to the Town of Bristol in memory of his son, Pvt. Norman E. Wasley of the 341st. Engineers Co. D, who died in an explosion while fighting a fire in Dawson Creek, B.C., on the Alcan Highway on 2/13/1943.
