Clayton Peak is a 10,721-foot summit in northern Utah’s Wasatch Range, straddling Salt Lake and Wasatch counties in the Wasatch–Cache National Forest southeast of Salt Lake City and near Brighton. Also known unofficially as Mount Majestic, it rises above the headwaters of Big Cottonwood Creek on the west and drainage toward Snake Creek on the east, with especially dramatic relief above Snake Creek. Its summit offers broad views of the Brighton Lakes area, the Uinta Mountains, Heber Valley, and Mount Timpanogos. The mountain is a popular hike from Guardsman Pass and its high west slope also supports skiing at Brighton Ski Resort. Its officially adopted name has appeared in publications since at least 1891.
