Bald Eagle Peak is a 6,259-foot mountain in Washington’s Alpine Lakes Wilderness, southeast of Skykomish, on the divide between the east and west forks of the Foss River. Set amid craggy ridges, deep glacial valleys, granite walls, and many mountain lakes, it reflects the North Cascades’ long history of tectonic activity, uplift, faulting, and repeated glaciation. Bald Eagle Lake lies in a cirque between it and nearby Silver Eagle Peak. Hermann Ulrichs and Ben Falkenburg made the first recorded ascent in 1933 by the North Ridge. The U.S. Board on Geographic Names officially fixed its name and location in 1988 after earlier map confusion.
